Ten boxes of choco squares and a digital partridge in a pear shaped tree

Long time no blog!
Where have we been?

Mike has been downsizing, and as his life and clutter were quite upsized in the first place, the reduction has taken a good chunk out of 2010. He's gone at the process with characteristic thoroughness and determination, and has now converted a lifetime of memories into lightwieght digital data.

..and where have I been?...expo expo expo expo..has been the background rhythm of my life for more than half a year, this past month increasing the volume and tempo.

Expo, what's that, you ask innocently, and I struggle to reply. I haven't the words yet to describe the process or the event.

A film festival, a machinima film festival, we'll keep it simple, it is still here, screenings continuing until end of November.

Choco squares? Sounds delicious but what can they be..exactly?

My son was keen to make sure I'd bought enough to 'last', he didn't want to repeat the hideous 'bran flakes' week that accompanied the finishing of the 'pear film', or the even more dreadful, 'bowl of allbran' fortnight which went with 'doing up the lounge'. He knows from past experience that I get distracted, unimportant tasks, like grocery shopping can get put off.

His special pleading for the advance stocking up of his favourite cereal was accompanied by an impressive mime sequence of the poor helpless chap, who for some reason is unable to stagger to the local shop, having to manage with allbran, all his saliva extinguished, being too incapacitated to ask for the correct bus ticket on the way to college.

So I bought ten boxes, and they disappeared one at a time, in the final pre-expo month, a kind of advent calender, counting down the weeks as the expo approached. The enduring weekly organic box, the milkman and the local bakery got me through.
Nothing to eat, there's fruit! There's bread, and there's 'this thing I found in the bottom of the chest freezer' AND lovely choco squares, what more do you want?

The day after (the expo) my hubby was attempting to stab open a bent tin of corned beef with a variety of implements including kitchen scissors, and we found ourselves getting a lttle hysterical, some of the contents wound up on the floor.

Thankfully sanity and menu diversity are now restored, the asda man cameth.

By the end of the week I'm aiming towards wearing less mad things as I catch up with the laundry, and possibly, if the wind is in the right direction, working out what to do next.

I'll keep you posted.
